When you’re trying to find deals on your entertainment, it can seem tough to find a way to spend a small amount of money to stay entertained. However, if you know where to look, there’s a surprising amount of free content you can enjoy today. And by free, we really mean free! Here are some of the best deals on entertainment that you can enjoy for free today.

Public Library

If you live near a public library, congratulations: you’re a moment away from all the entertainment you could ever ask for. From fiction books that spin fun yarns to nonfiction research that can expand your knowledge, the library has it all. Even if you’re not an avid reader, there is still plenty to love about your local library. Most libraries have a robust collection of DVDs and Blu-Rays available for checkout.

The best part is, your taxes already pay for your access to the public library. As such, it doesn’t cost you one red cent to walk in and check out books or other media. Even if you have no internet and no other way to enjoy media, books from the library are a great way to pass them time and expand your knowledge.

Internet TV

If you do have an internet connection at home, you’ve got access to tons and tons of free content. Even if you don’t like the free-form nature of YouTube, there are free internet TV apps you can download. These apps, like Pluto, act as aggregates, bringing in free content from all over the internet and collecting them into channels.

While most of these free TV apps also run ads, this is a small price to pay for actual free TV content. It’s hard to beat the price, so we’re hesitant to complain about some commercials between episodes. However, this isn’t the only free entertainment available if you have an internet connection.

Free Video Games

There are tons and tons of free-to-play video games on the market. Some of them are low effort and not a ton of fun, but others are rewarding and deep. Games like League of Legends, Fortnite, Warframe and Magic the Gathering: Arena are all completely free to play. Beyond those, if you have the Epic Games Store launcher, they often give away free games just for signing in and checking their deals page.

One week, Epic gave away Grand Theft Auto V for free. The promotion was so popular that it brought their servers down briefly. So, don’t think there are no deals out there for people on a budget; you can find a surprising amount of entertaining content for completely free!
